You may purchase the required text through the KC Bookstore or from another vendor.

Purchasing your course material through a third party IS NOT an excuse to turn in late assignments.

The begin and end dates for this course are clearly labeled as are the due dates for each assignment.

You are required to have regular access to a computer with multimedia capabilities:

“I don’t have a computer of my own” or “I am never able to get to a computer” are not excuses for failing to get your work done. Please make sure you assess your ability to access a computer before beginning this course.

You must be able to have regular contact to both a computer and the Internet in order to complete this course.

That could be from home, a friend’s house, an extension center, etc.

ATTENDANCE POLICY

An online class is essentially instructor assisted learning. The bulk of the responsibility lies with the student to do his/her work in a timely manner. This is an online class and, as a result, when you log on to complete each week’s work is entirely up to you. There are, however, a couple of points to consider when doing so.

 1) The assignments for a particular week will be closed at the end of that week.

Example: The reading and the test for week one are due by Sunday at midnight of that week. I will be able to monitor when you have and have not logged in for that week. After Sunday at midnight, the tests will become unavailable. If there are extenuating circumstances that prevent your “attendance” that week, I will need to know as soon as possible. This does not guarantee that the tests will be re-opened.

2) Your participation is vitally important to a successful performance. Upon recommendation of the instructor, Kaskaskia College retains the right to administratively withdraw any student.

3) Any student who has not logged in by the 10th scheduled day of the semester will be dropped from the course.

POSTING GRADES

While every effort is made to return student work in a timely manner, please be patient. If you submit work on Sunday at midnight, it is too early to start asking me about the grade on Monday morning. I will post grades by the end of the next week following their submission.

If you have any questions about grades, please contact me and I'll be happy to respond.
